SUNNYVALE, Calif. - September 5, 2000 McAfee.com (NASDAQ: MCAF), a leading global consumer Application Service Provider (ASP) of PC security and management services, today announced the availability of application monitoring software and other applications for the Internet's only service to protect, manage and maintain handheld devices running on the Palm OS, Pocket PC (Windows CE) and EPOC operating systems. The new applications offer McAfee.com's Wireless Security Center users enhanced anti-virus and handheld file management services for the most common wireless platforms. McAfee.com Guard Dog for Palm Based on the popular Guard Dog security program for the PC, McAfee.com Guard Dog for Palm prevents users from unknowingly allowing rogue applications to view, steal or delete data from their Palm devices. The program lets users decide what applications are trustworthy and prevents those that are not from accessing the sensitive information that resides on these handheld devices. Guard Dog for Palm continuously monitors the device, searching for specific actions and immediately notifying the user of any strange or malicious behavior including: Additional New Wireless Security Center Applications In addition to Guard Dog for Palm, McAfee.com is also releasing two new file and system management tools for the wireless device market.
